I Want It

Shopping is something I limit myself to. I usually go to Goodwill, St. Vincent's, or a local thrift store to look around for stuff before heading to a "normal" store if I can't find what I am looking for. I agonize over every penny it seems. For example, just this morning, I was at Copps in Plover and I wanted the Mann's Sugar Snap Peas for $3.49 and the already cut fruit (which had kiwi...and that sounded SO good!) for $3.63. I carried those two items around while having an argument in my head over whether or not to buy them. Was it really worth it? Should I just pick a less expensive fruit and vegetable? It's so expensive since it is out of season, yadda, yadda, yadda! I finally put both items back and bought a bag of baby carrots for $1.99 and two bananas for $0.59 a pound (I know, I know...Kwik Trip is cheaper for bananas...but I was already cutting it close on time due to the aforementioned argument in my head.)

It's not that I don't indulge...I do...but I try not to let it happen too often so that when it actually does happen...it feels like a treat. But sometimes, I have trained myself so well that I still feel guilty for spending the money. But I digress...because really I want to buy something. I don't need it...I just want it and I want to wear it to Perry's birthday party even though it is probably too dressy. I found the dress pictured above at Target and I want it so terribly. It is $39.99 and so amazing...I am SO tempted to just go there and try it on...but then the big debate will start.

So here's my big internal debate...I just got my tax return...and it was a pretty nice return, I was able to pay some bills and have a little left over...so do I splurge or save it? I told myself I would finally get my hair cut and colored with part of my return instead of just a cut (I had my hair colored back in September...so it would be nice to have it done again...especially before his party.) And then I think about his birthday party and what I have left buy for it, a few baby showers I have coming up, my normal expenses, etc. And I can't decide. All I know is. I. WANT. IT.

Sigh. You know, it if it was for someone else I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I say just buy it already. What good is a tax return if you can't take $40 to spend on yourself. You worked hard all year to give money to the government! Besides you would look smokin' hot in it!

Buy it! You will look fabulous in it - And - (if that's a picture of the dress)it's really sexy so Perry will love it too. Think of it as his birthday gift.

I think you should buy it!! Support the economy, and feel great about youself!

and next time- you should buy your own fruit--and cut it yourself!! this was you can have it for more than a few days, and you might be able to share it with Bun.

Online? Boy was that a mistake. It'll never fit. And now you wasted ALL THAT MONEY. Shame on you. Just kidding. Don't you make like 70,000 a year at Renaissance? I think you can afford 40 bucks. Although now that I think about it, 40 bucks would cover 18 holes with a cart...hmmmm.
